Eamon Devaney (14 years old) from City of oxford HC  has awarded the 'Best up and coming Young umpire in the South region' and has been asked to represent the South as their No1 umpire at the National Championships in Nottingham on the 15/16th May, 
Eamon umpired at this weekend Junior Championships in Surbition and received high praise from England hockey umpire officials

 U14 Girls

Oxfordshire u14 Girls played their final two JAC championship games on Sunday against Hampshire and Middlesex at Ashford Hockey Club in London. In a close, high standard game against Hampshire, there were chances at either end but it was a single penalty corner strike from Hampshire in the end that separated the two teams giving Hampshire a 1 – 0 victory. In their second game, Oxfordshire dominated against Middlesex and were two up at half time thanks to two well taken penalty corners from Jess Oakhill. However, two second half goals from Middlesex left it looking as though the points would be shared, but Oxfordshire continued to push forward and deserved their third goal when Mae Welch kept her composure to push the ball past the keeper from close range seconds before the final whistle.
